Sherihan started her formal dance training at the age of 14. Her background is very eclectic with a wide range of styles. She became proficient in Latin ballroom, and then branched out into jazz, hip hop, contemporary modern, swing, Irish step, ballet, tap, theatrical dance, and even Mexican folkloric.
She began her Middle Eastern dance training late 2006, taking classes with the wonderful Erika! She now periodically studies with Bellydance Superstar Sabah, and has taken master classes with some of the major names in contemporary Middle Eastern Dance otherwise known as Raqs Sharqi, such as: Nagwa Fouad, Yousry Sharif, Dr.Mo Geddawi, Randa Kamel, Samara of NYC who is one of her biggest influences, Faten Salima and the one and only, Dina. Sherihan has performed in various
venues including Navy Pier,
Lincoln Park Zoo, Aragon Ballroom,
and many different Theatres around Chicago
and the Western suburbs as a
solo artist, a part of
PURE Chicago
(original NY group founded by Kaeshi Chai) and Baladina Dance Company (Directed by Erika). She has also performed in NewYork City, Washington DC, and various other cities in the US. After a couple of years on the Chicago professional circut where she danced in various restaurants and clubs, she is now focusing on Yallah! Dance Studio with business partner and friend Zahra Gamal and studying the Arabic language while getting her Biology degree at a local University.
